Our Story
I, Patrick S. Edwards, CEO of "NOW WHAT" Edwards Family Foundation, am a licensed clinical therapist and a returning citizen. I hold a bachelor's degree in Social Work from Eastern Michigan University and a Master's in Social Work from the University of Michigan. I am eager to work with this population because of my own personal experiences and struggles. I want others to realize that it is never too late to turn your life around. I earned both my degrees in my 50s post-incarceration, so I want to inspire others by showing that it's never too late to achieve success. The organization aims to assist returning citizens in understanding that reintegration is a continuous journey, not a final destination. It encourages them to stay focused and persistent and to be kind to one's self along the way.

Therapy & Counseling
Returning citizens may face emotional and mental health challenges that can hinder their ability to integrate into their community. Our licensed and experienced counseling professionals provide in-person counseling to help you heal from the past and move forward.
Our mentorship program is designed to offer you the support you need to navigate the challenges of reintegrating back into your community. We provide you with a safe and supportive space to share your experiences and work with a mentor who understands what you're going through.
We understand that finding a job after returning home can be challenging. That's why we offer job training and placement services to enroll in a technical or academic program and connect you with employment opportunities that match your skills and interests.
